A sand filter is part of a water filtration system and its role is to remove suspended, floating, and sinkable matter from water so that it becomes safe for use. It has the capacity to remove ammonia, protozoa, and bacteria. The system is so designed that it is easy-to-operate and also requires very little maintenance. It can also do deferrisation and demagnization, which will further clear the water.
